back to overview

Handicrafts and culinary delights

From 23 November, the courtyard in front of Schönbrunn Palace will be filled with the aroma of punch, roasted almonds and other delicacies, the sounds of Christmas tunes and carols, and the myriad lights. About eighty lovingly decorated huts offer plenty to discover:

- Christmas decorations

- paper items

- delicatessen items

- ceramics

- textiles

- culinary delights, warming drinks and much more

From 27 December to 5 January, the New Year’s Market Schloß Schönbrunn will present traditional handicrafts and all kinds of requisites for celebrating the New Year.

Children’s programme

A varied children’s programme will shorten the waiting time for the arrival of Christmas.

- Children’s Hut with all kinds of fun and games

- Christmas Workshop where you decorate gingerbread or model marzipan figures

- Quiz Rally with shepherds on stilts

- Visit of the Austrian Santa Claus (Nikolaus) where he will be handing out small treats to young visitors on 5 and 6 December

Advent concerts

Every day musical Christmas greetings will be provided by choirs and music ensembles free of charge on the stage in front of the Christmas tree.

To welcome the upcoming year visitors can enjoy jazz and swing formations at the New Year’s Market.
